I offer at least one update each month for the mods selected by Patrons.
For example, for the July “Mods of the Month” survey,
The first 2 weeks of May are dedicated to the survey and the last 2 weeks are dedicated to additional ideas. Ideas from Patrons always carry more weight.
During the month of June, I focus on making content and making some corrections if necessary.
The process is in two steps:
Patrons vote on which mods to focus on for the next month: the voting period is the first 2 weeks of the month . This is done on Patreon of course.
The winning mods is announced to everyone at the beginning of the third week of the month.
The community (Patrons or not) brainstorms and gives ideas on what exactly to do with the winning mods for this update: This is done on Discord on the ‘Ideas and Feedback‘ channel.
The brainstorming period will be between the beginning of the third week of the month and the last week of the month. Please discuss your ideas and those of others as much as possible and also use the Like button so I can get an idea of what is popular.
The involvement of the wider community in the second stage of the process must both be inclusive and reflected the open source nature of the game and also because Patreon is not really a suitable platform for brainstorming, Discord is a much better platform. Also, when it comes to ideas, the more people who suggest and “like” them to show interest, the better, rather than just ideas coming from Patrons.
In summary, the patrons decide the overall direction of the mods, but any good ideas related to that direction can come from anyone and be incorporated into the mods.
The results of the Patron Survey are announced on the Monday of the third week so that relevant ideas and suggestions that are retained can be implemented immediately, if possible.
I am only dedicating one update per month for my entire mods at the moment, as I don’t have a lot of free time.
